Safety Systems
Industrial Rope access has been a rapidly growing industry since 1994. Building owners and Property Management companies have been required to fully understand the implications of height related work place safety and to comply with an ever evolving set of Industry standards and legislation.
Industry jargon, changes to equipment standards, alternative viewpoints from inexperienced and misinformed companies, can all add up to a very confused message!
Property owners and managers need clarity to discern exactly what their legal responsibility is, and also what it isn’t! OTL is committed to helping our customers understand what their specific height related Health and Safety duties are ,and presenting you with all the options.
If you wish to install a permanent fall protection system we can help you decide on the most practical and cost effective option. Our team can supply and install a new permanent rooftop fall protection system for you, and then annually inspect and certify compliance
We have expertise in supply and installation of the following permanent systems.
- Work positioning systems (Abseil anchors)
- Fall Arrest and Fall restraint systems (fall protection but not designed to abseil from. Useful to gain access to clean gutters etc)
- Horizontal lifelines, retracting lanyards and lifelines.
Ramset stainless steel eyebolts are drilled into the concrete structure of this rooftop and certified annually.
The metal tags record the certifying company details, technicians name, test date, test loading and any pertinent notes for that individual anchor.
The AS/NZS 4488.2:1997 (section 7:1.3) states:
Permanently installed anchorages shall be inspected by a competent person at intervals not exceeding 12 months. Adequate inspection records shall be kept. Wherever practical a plate indicating the date of the last inspection should be placed near the anchorage.
This Fall protection system allows a person to gain safe access to the rooftop edge. Off The ledge installed this system cost effectively.
The Health and safety Act 1992 states the following:
Where any employee may fall more than 3 meters
- Means are to be provided to prevent the employee from falling and...
- Any means so provided are suitable for the purpose for which they are to be used
Off the Ledge can ensure that the means provided for safe work procedure are always suitable, and always within the definition of industry standards.
We can either set up a temporary fall protection and work positioning system to use while we carry out your work or we can install a certified permanent system that all trades can use.
